Corte Madera committee to review 2024 greenhouse gas inventory showing 44% emissions drop since 2005
The Climate Action Committee will hear a presentation on the 2024 community greenhouse gas inventory, which shows emissions down 44% since 2005 and 34% below 1990 levels. Flood Control Board to discuss flood protection, grant for Marina Village berm
The Corte Madera Flood Control Board will discuss short-term and long-term flood protection efforts, including a report from the Flood Preparedness Fair planning subcommittee, the Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plan, and coordination with Marin County. They will also receive updates on the Marina Village Flood Berm Project, storm drain pump station repairs, and the Shorebird Marsh Pump Station replacement. 2. OPEN TIME FOR PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Roy Wolford provided comment suggesting that the Town investigate AI traffic signal
optimization as a way to reduce GHG emissions from vehicles idling at traffic lights. He
also provided an emailed comment on this topic that was forwarded to the Committee.
Jody Timms, chair of the Fairfax Climate Action Committee, commented that she is
listening in to the meeting along with a summer intern from 350 Marin.
