Butch Schmeling called the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m. A motion was made by Roger Ekert to approve the minutes of the May 20, 2026, meeting, seconded by
Paul
Fank.

1. Koronis Seasonal Employee Update a. Tyler has been working for about a month now and learning his role. The Highway
Department
staff
has
been
able
to
provide
help
when
needed
on
larger
projects.
2. West Manuella Property Discussion a. A brief update was given on the county-owned parcel of property on the west side of Lake
Manuella.
There
is
a
conflict
between
neighbors
and
the
potential
private
use
of
the
property.
b. The property was gifted to Meeker County to remain a part of the parks system in perpetuity. c. Not an ideal location for public use, as it is a small piece of property with no parking
available.
d. Brady was working on lining up someone to trim some trees that were causing potential
damage
to
the
adjacent
property
owner's
home.

Planning Commission considers 900-animal-unit swine feedlot CUP in Manannah Township
The Meeker County Planning Commission held a public hearing and discussed a conditional use permit (CUP #16809) for Bergstrom Pork, Inc. to construct a new 900-animal-unit (3,000-head) swine feedlot with a confinement barn in Manannah Township. The commission reviewed 17 proposed conditions, heard public comments and concerns about odor, water, and road impacts, and voted to approve the permit with conditions, including a requirement for MPCA approval before a building permit is issued.

5:00pm to discuss the Conditional Use and Interim Use permits and other business before the Board.
Present were Jans, Smith, Hempel, Turck, Salzl, Euerle and Zoning Administrator Schultz.

Hempel calls the meeting to order. There is a quorum.
The Board states their names for voice recognition.
Jans asks the Board if they have any corrections or additions to the June 9, 2026, meeting minutes. A
name change was noted.
Hempel makes a motion to approve.
Euerle seconds the motion.
Motion carried 5-0. Schreiber is absent.

Hempel opens the public hearing for Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statute 116.07 subd. 7(a)
that Bergstrom Pork, Inc has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and
Meeker County for a permit to construct and operate a new swine Class B-h feedlot with a capacity
of 900 Animal Units.
The proposed feedlot is located at Government Lot Five (5), Section Eighteen (18), Township One
Hundred Twenty-One (121), Range Thirty-One (31), Manannah Township, Meeker County.
This site is proposed to be a Class B-h feedlot permitted for 900 animal units (3,000 head of
finishing pigs).
This proposal is to also construct a 152’6” x 185’ swine confinement barn with 8’ deep concrete pit
below slatted barn floor.

Elaine Sanders has reached out to Meeker County Engineer to see if the county would

street light intersections of two county roads. The county said they would cover on-going

township hall and called to order at 7:01 pm, by Chair John N., with reciting of the Pledge of
Allegiance
Clerk’s Report: Dan A. emailed the March meeting minutes to the Supervisors prior to the
meeting. Motion by Randy B. to approve the Clerk’s report, second by Joshua S.: Motion carried.
Dan A. provided a copy of the minutes from the March 23, 2026 Special Meeting, Motion by
Randy B. to accept the minutes, second by John N.: Motion carried. Dan A. provided a copy of
the minutes from the 2026 Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting, Motion by Randy B. to
accept the minutes, second by John N.: Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Brett O. previously provided the Board with the February financial report.
Motion by Randy B. to approve the report, second by Joshua S.: Motion carried.
Brett O. shared the CD with Kensington Bank matured on April 9th and accrued $6664.93 in
interest. Brett discussed the different options of what could be done with the CD. The CD would
renew for 12 months at 3% interest if the Board didn’t take any action. John N. made a motion of
have Brett O. talk to Kensington about renewing the CD for $270,000 or 12 months if he was able
