CITY OF CHIPPEWA FALLS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026 – 5:30 PM The Board of Public Works met in City Hall on August 24, 2026 at 5:30 pm. Attending were Mayor Jason Hiess, Vice-President Tom Hubbard, Director of Public Works Brandon Cesafsky, Alderman Tim Normand, and Mike Tzanakis. 1. Motion by Cesafsky, seconded by Tzanakis to approve the minutes of the July 13, 2026 Board of Public Works meeting. All present voting aye. MOTION CARRIED. 2. Director Cesafsky provided the background on the sewer siphon project and comparable projects. Cesafsky stated that the Engineering Department hopes to reduce the cost of the project by not needing to do rock excavation and some other unknown project costs. There was discussion about the existing siphon and the importance of replacing this structure. Motion by Hiess, seconded by Hubbard to recommend Common Council approve the bid and award the Sanitary Sewer Siphon Project to Haas Sons, Inc. in the amount of $2,095,928.61. All present voting aye.
