Council approves three church mausoleum projects and a levee rights-of-way ordinance

The St. James Parish Council voted to approve land use applications for three Catholic churches to build concrete and granite mausoleums in Vacherie. The body also introduced an ordinance allowing the Parish President to purchase rights-of-way for the West Shore Risk Reduction Connector Levee Project. Additionally, the Council authorized the Parish President to opt into the state-run temporary housing program and accepted a bid for utility relocations on the 3127 Widening project.

FOR THE WATERSHED HUMBLE PHASE III DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the St. James Parish Council did receive bids, and awarded the lowest bid to Triumph Construction, LLC. as prescribed by law, for the Watershed Humble Phase III Drainage Improvement project; and WHEREAS, Change Order # 1 is for removal of an existing box structure and install a new, pre­ cast CB-02 box structure. This change order is an increase in contract value of$5,214.84. An additional five (5) contract days are required to complete this task. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. James Parish Council that Change Order No. 1 is hereby approved and accepted, and that Peter A. Dufresne, Parish President of St. James Parish, and/or his designee, is hereby authorized to sign, execute, and administer all documents necessary to effectuate Change Order No. 1 between Triumph Construction, LLC and St. James Parish Government.
