Parish Council

The St. James Parish Council voted to adopt Resolution 25, opting out of the state‑level siting requirements for solar farms established by Act 279 of the 2025 Louisiana Legislative session. The parish already has a comprehensive solar farm ordinance (Section 82‑26 of the St. James Parish Code of Ordinances) that is more detailed than the state law. By opting out, the parish will continue to regulate solar farms locally under its existing ordinance.
