Climate and Environment Commission Public Comment Practice

At their April 20, 20226 meeting, the Columbia City Council voted to authorize a financial
assistance agreement with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for a portion of
the Benton-Stephens Historic Neighborhood Architectural Survey. (Ordinance # 026288)
LG2 Environmental Solutions, Inc. of Jacksonville, Florida was selected to complete the
survey, which requires their team to photograph and research all structures within the
survey area. Activity will not require their team members to enter private property. All
work shall be completed from public rights-of-way.

A request by Caleb Colbert (attorney), on behalf of McLarty RE LLC
(owners), seeking a variance from Sec. 29-4.8 of the Unified Development
Code (UDC). The applicant seeks to install a 30-foot tall freestanding sign,
containing a maximum of 128 sq. ft. of sign area, that would be located
10-feet from the subject site's property line shared with I-70 Drive SW.
Pursuant to Sec. 29-4.8, Table 4.8-8 such a sign would be required to be
setback from the site's I-70 Drive SW property line a minimum of 32.5-feet.
The applicant is seeking approval of a 22.5-foot variance from the Board
