Ephrata Area Joint Authority

The Ephrata Area Joint Authority will consider adopting the 2026-2027 budget and program of services. The body is also deciding on revised water rates and a specific rate for water sold to Akron Borough. Other items include facility design and water capacity requests.

The Ephrata Area Joint Authority approved its 2026-2027 budget and program of services, and adopted revised water rates effective July 1, 2026. The board also approved a rate for water sold to Akron Borough in excess of 50,000 gallons per day, awarded a contract for leak detection data loggers, and conditionally approved several water capacity allocations and facility designs. All votes were unanimous.

Borough Council

The Ephrata Borough Council will vote on a series of development agreements, contract awards, ordinance changes, and public‑safety system upgrades. Key items include a land development agreement for the Ephrata National Bank corporate headquarters, a roof replacement contract for the Performing Arts Center, and a purchase of a new interview‑recording system. The council will also adopt an attorney‑fee schedule, a pension‑board resolution, and several conditional approvals for street closures, park events, and utility work.

The council amended the agenda to recommend purchasing up to 300 replacement SRECs at a price not to exceed $33.75 per SREC, and the motion passed unanimously. The amended agenda was then accepted unanimously, and the minutes from the May 4 and May 11 sessions were approved unanimously. A motion to close the public comments period was also adopted unanimously. The council accepted the Budget and Finance Committee report and the Development Activities Committee report, both without dissent.
