HELD ON AUGUST 10, 2026
The Board of Commissioners of the Village of Palos Park, Cook County, Illinois held its regular meeting on
Monday, August 10, 2026. Mayor Milovich Walters called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Answering
roll call were Commissioners, Petan, Vincent, Wade, Polk and Mayor Milovich-Walters. Clerk Williams
declared that there was a quorum.
Also in attendance were Jeannine Smith, Village Manager; Kathy Williams, Village Clerk; Howard Jablecki,
Village Attorney; Alison Brothen, Finance Director; Howard Coppari, Community Development Director;
Mike Sibrava, Public Works Director; Joe Miller, Police Chief; Stephen DeFalco, Recreation Director; Kathie

Co-Chair Jackiw moved to approve the June 15, 2026 meeting minutes, seconded by
Ambassador Wisowaty. Motion carried unanimously via voice vote.

Recent Home Visits Recap
The Committee shared that the home visits are going very well, and they plan to visit
all of the new residents on the list ahead of the final report to Village Council.
IV.
Goodie Bag Discussion
The committee is running low on donations from local businesses.
Magnet and
keychain options were discussed, the committee ultimately decided on providing new
residents with the tote bag, purple coneflower seeds, and a handwritten welcome
note inside of a gift bag with a Village sticker on it. Staff to order stickers, Ambassador
Poore to donate the gift bags.

The Board of Commissioners of the Village of Palos Park, Cook County, Illinois held its regular meeting on
Monday, July 13, 2026. Mayor Milovich Walters called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Answering roll

Il. Recent Home Visits Recap
The Committee shared that the home visits are going very well, with many new
residents consisting of young families with children. Ambassadors mentioned the
need for additional items to be included in the bags. Liaison Bujak to provide the
members with a list of Palos Park businesses so they can request giveaway items for
new residents. The committee suggested including a Palos Park magnet with
important phone numbers, staff to research options before the next meeting.
