Okanogan County Board of Health Meeting SPECIAL MEETING August 3, 2026 Board Members Present: Denise Varner, Jon Neal, Nick Timm, Andy Hover, Mariann Williams, Jim Wright Staff Present: Lauri Jones, Jill Gates, Jennifer Richardson Guests: See attached Register (Exhibit A) The meeting was held in the BOCC Hearing Room and also via /Zoom conference call. CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTIONS Call to Order — The meeting was called to order at 1:30 PM by Chairman Mariann Williams. APPROVAL/ADDITIONS OF THE AGENDA Chairman Mariann Williams stated that we only have one item on the agenda and since this is a special meeting there are to be no additions or changes to the agenda. (Exhibit B) Resolution #2026-05 Declaring a Public Health Emergency Administrator Lauri Jones gave an overview of the Resolution that states that there have been active wildfires in Okanogan County and the surrounding area causing extremely poor air quality and these conditions are expected to continue for several weeks. This poor outdoor air quality is hazardous to public health and may pose additional risk to individuals with respiratory illnesses. We are asking for the Board’s approval to pass Resolution #2026-05 Declaring a Public Health Emergency. Board Member Andy Hover made a motion to approve Resolution #2026-05 effective immediately.
