Tulsa County approves $9M road project, rezonings; terminates IT director

The board also authorized the creation of the Tulsa County Board of Adjustments and Tulsa County Planning Commission, and approved the transition of planning and Board of Adjustment support from INCOG to County Administration.

Tulsa County's Board of County Commissioners was scheduled to take its most consequential votes of the month in mid-July, including dissolving the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, awarding more than $1 million for senior housing rehabilitation, and approving a $14 million bond agreement. Because minutes have not yet been published for any of the meetings below, the items reflect what boards were set to consider — not confirmed outcomes.

Planning Commission dissolution and replacement

On July 13, commissioners were slated to act on dissolving the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission effective September 2, 2026, and transitioning planning services to County Administration. Tulsa County Commissioners approve $415,000 Vision Tulsa distribution, set stage for planning commission overhaul

Tulsa County Commissioners approved a $415,000 distribution from the Vision Tulsa Sales Tax fund and cleared a $719,650 ODOT supplemental agreement for a Federal-Aid Railroad Project at their July 6 meeting, both on 3-0 votes. The same session set in motion a series of infrastructure and administrative actions that will carry into the coming weeks.

July 6 Board of County Commissioners

All items passed 3-0. The board approved Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. for concrete repair on 86th Street North and authorized advertising for Tulsa County HQ Parking Garage Barriers. It amended agreements with Union Realtime, LLC (Assessor's office) and Meshek & Associates, LLC (Emergency Management).

The board approved new procurement officer designations for Communications and the District Attorney, and removed Jacob Parra from the Greater Tulsa Area Hispanic-Latinx Affairs Commission.
