Miami County approves airport taxiway project; 2027 budget hearings set for Aug. 26

Study sessions on runway, fireworks, and stop sign

On Aug. 19, the board held a study session covering an update from Miami County Fire District 1, a project authorization for the airport runway extension (Project 26-03-AP, item 707), an environmental review agreement with Olsson, Inc., a stop sign resolution on 239th Street and State Line Road, and a fireworks permit (2026-011-TP) for Wald Fireworks/Dancefestopia. Miami County board sends RV park rezoning back to planners, approves event center permit

The Miami County Board of County Commissioners voted 4-1 on July 29 to send a rezoning application for a 50-acre RV park back to the Planning Commission for further review. The Planning Commission had previously recommended denial by a 5-3 vote. The board also approved a conditional use permit for an event center at 22600 State Line Road and tabled an IT infrastructure agreement for one week.

Miami County Commission approves EMS routers and five-year Motorola service agreement

The Miami County Board of Commissioners approved a $10,968 purchase of five XR60 5G routers for EMS vehicles and a new five-year Motorola service agreement at its July 22 meeting, both by 4-0 votes.

The commission approved three items on a consent agenda by a 4-0 vote: Grant of Easement 2026-015-LS, Grant of Easement 2026-016-LS, and 2026-005-SUB: Roether's Addition.
