Sag Harbor Board Approves $68,200 Traffic Study, Extends Pilot Program
The Sag Harbor Village Board approved a $68,200 traffic study and extended a neighborhood traffic mitigation pilot by 120 days at its August 14 meeting. The board also accepted a police sergeant's retirement, authorized the sale of a fire truck, and approved a $1.2 million check batch. All resolutions passed unanimously.
Traffic study and pilot extension
The board approved a $68,200 supplemental transportation study with L.K. McLean Associates, including a Village-wide origin-destination traffic analysis. It also extended the neighborhood traffic mitigation pilot for John Street, Columbia Street, and Jesse Halsey Lane by 120 days. Both measures passed unanimously.
Personnel and administrative actions
In other unanimous decisions, the board:
- Accepted Sergeant Kenneth Marangio's retirement with terminal leave.
- Approved the sale of a 1999 American LaFrance ladder truck.
- Authorized legal action against TBD Hospitality LLC at a cost not to exceed $20,000.
- Amended clerk application fees.
- Rescheduled the 2027 organizational meeting to July 6.
- Approved the August check batch of $1,196,817.51.
Special meeting: deputy clerk and legal counsel
At a separate special meeting on August 14, the Board of Trustees voted 4-0 to abolish the Deputy Clerk position and reinstate Connie McGrath as Office Assistant at a yearly salary of $63,267.49. Deputy Mayor Haye was absent. The board also voted 4-0 to retain Mintzer Mauch PLLC for environmental legal services at a cost not to exceed $40,000.
Historic preservation board
On July 9, the Board of Historic Preservation & Architectural Review approved multiple Certificates of Appropriateness, all unanimously. Approved projects include The Maycroft House at 42 Bay Street, a second-story addition and renovations for 82 Glover Street LLC, renovations for Samuel and Katherine McPherson at 32 Eastville Avenue, and a renovation and pool replacement for 114 Harrison Street LLC. Also approved were applications for 180 Madison LLC, 84 Milton LLC, and 71 Walker Avenue. Several applications were tabled to the August 13 meeting, including those for 121 Madison Street, 60 Bluff Point Road, 38 Harrison Street, and 9 Wooded Path.
Zoning board
At its July 21 meeting, the Zoning Board of Appeals reviewed several variance requests, including outdoor dining, residential additions, and new construction. No formal decisions were recorded in the minutes.
