A Motion to approve the meeting minutes from March 23, 2026, was made by Rob Rembert and seconded by Michele Beckmann. Motion Passed. A new Lateral Deputy Eligibility List needed to be approved. After a discussion regarding the current candidate, and their score, Michele moved to approve the Lateral Deputy Eligibility List, Rob seconded. Motion Passed. Cheri brought up a question regarding the hiring of promotional positions and whether they have to be hired in order of testing scores. Steve stated that the Appointing Authority, (ie..Sheriff) is able to hire an individual in any order, as long as they are on a valid Eligibility List. Conclusion from the board is that they do not need to approve such a hiring situation and will leave it up to the Appointing Authority’s discretion. Cheri informed the members that the Jail has hired a new Correction Officer as of August 01, 2026. Also, it is becoming increasingly difficult to hire for the Correction Officer positions.
