Which one? Okay. All right. Good morning, everyone. We'll call the October 7, 2026 Code Enforcement Special Mag istrate hearing to order. The first case and only case is C-E-E-N 26-00318 Richard A. Redmond. Is the city ready to proceed? Yes, Your Honor. Good morning, Your Honor. For the record, David Lipger. I am a certified code enforcement officer for the city of Venice. The address of the violation is 336 Pont de Leon Avenue, Venice, Florida 34285. The zoning is RSF3 Residential Single Family. The owner of record is Richard A. Redmond. On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, I was directed to a code complaint at this address for rats in the neighborhood originated from possibly this residence, which is an un occupied home. I arrived and located the residence with piles of dead vegetative debris. I then responded to Redmond's current residence, which is on Casey Key Road, and spoke with his daughter, Lindsey Red mond. I explained the violation to her, and she asked for 14 days to get the lot cleared of the vegetative debris. I also explained the concern that rats are used in the yard , namely the trees with dead palm fronds in the area and their property for a breeding area. On Friday, July 31, 2026, the piles of dead vegetative debris remained. The grass on the right of way was recently mowed, but the grass on the property appeared to be more than 12 inches tall. While on scene, I spoke with a resident at 344, Ponce de Leon, who advised she could see and hear rats in the trees locate …

Venice City Council finalizes FY 2026-27 tax levy and budget
The Venice City Council will hold a public hearing to give final approval to two ordinances: one levying ad valorem (property) taxes for fiscal year 2026-2027, and one adopting the official city budget for that year. - Final adoption of Ordinance 2026-25, levying ad valorem taxes for FY 2026-2027
- Final adoption of Ordinance 2026-26, adopting the official city budget for FY 2026-2027 (Oct 1, 2026 - Sep 30, 2027)
- Budget ordinance restricts disbursements to fund budgets without Council approval

You had issued an administrative order on JULY 1st, giving him until AUGUST 1st of this year to clean up the water retention ponds at the Hawks run development. I went out earlier this morning and they are still in noncompliance of your order. Noncompliance or paperwork was filed, sent out to them by email, certified mail and regular mail. So they have been notified that they're non-compliant. I have three pictures I could show you that I took this morning. Okay. [Laughter] This is just one of them. You can see that the area is still filled with cattails. The second area. And this is the third area. And these are all the pictures I took this morning. I'd like to enter them into evidence. >> So admitted. >> At this point I have nothing further. I just would like to ask that, Your Honor. Find them in violation …
