ADVERTISEMENT FOR PROPOSALS
The Village of Swansea is soliciting sealed proposals for demolition and site restoration at
208 Clara Street and 217 Anna Street. Proposals shall be submitted to the Village Clerk,
1444 Boul Avenue, Swansea, Illinois. Proposal security equal to 5% of the total proposal
amount is required. Proposals shall remain valid for thirty (30) days following opening. The
Village reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive irregularities.
INSTRUCTIONS TO PROPOSERS
Proposers shall examine the sites, verify conditions, include all labor, equipment, disposal,
restoration, utility coordination, permits, insurance, bonds, and incidentals. Submission
constitutes acknowledgment of site conditions. The successful proposer shall furnish
insurance, performance bond, payment bond, and executed contract within fifteen (15) days
of award.

The Mayor offered two notable community announcements to open the meeting on a celebratory note.
First, the Mayor recognized the Swansea Rotary Club's 5K run, which drew over 150 runners and raised
more than $9,000 in sponsorships alone. The Mayor noted that the proceeds are used to fund college
scholarships for graduating students from local schools, calling it "a great thing" for the community.
Second, and with particular enthusiasm, the Mayor highlighted the Special Olympics cheerleading team,

Monday, May 4, 2026 at 7:00 PM at 1444 Boul Avenue, Swansea, IL 62226.

Swansea Board of Trustees to enact Fiscal Year 2027 municipal budget
