Landbank Commission

Housing Bank Commission

The motion passed without further discussion. The Commission also discussed the draft Agriculture Policy and Coffelt Farm Preserve lease rate, agreeing to release the draft policy for public comment with a deadline of December 13th and to discuss it at the December 17th meeting.

Clean Water Advisory Committee

Planning Commission

The San Juan County Planning Commission held a special meeting on October 8, 2021, and made several recommendations on affordable housing and climate change policies. They unanimously recommended allowing 75% of dwelling units to count as affordable housing for moderate-income households, and recommended aligning UDC and Affordable Housing Program definitions. They also recommended adding climate change mitigation strategies to the Comprehensive Plan and adopting a policy prioritizing climate resilience in county regulations. The meeting was procedural in part, with no final approvals, as these are recommendations to the County Council.

Planning Commission
