10/3/26 Event Planning Subcommittee meeting at Manor Park Building
Started at 11:04; attendance: Julie, Pat, Kristyn, Cathy. Subcommittee reviewed moderation and
facilitation guides provided by Land of Neighbors. Developed a list of questions for LON that Julie will
send.
Logistical details:
Budget: For a group of 40 or more, budget is up to $1650, including the $150 planning stipend. We are
aiming for 50
Date and time: Subcommittee reviewed considerations related to holding the event on 11/11 (Veterans
Day). Pros: Promoting community is a good way to acknowledge Veterans’ Day; Elim already holds a
Wed. night community dinner so we can align with that. Cons: Holiday for some, and perhaps that could
affect attendance?
Decision: hold the event on 11/11 and include an acknowledgement of Veteran’s Day. Also reach out to
MAC-V specifically to invite residents in their Robbinsdale program
Time will be from 5:15-8:15, with dinner from about 5:30-6:15.
Location: Elim Lutheran Church–space is available on all three possible dates. There is a standard $150
venue rental fee for evenings.
Food: Want to have a taco bar or similar that can allow flexibility for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, and
other dietary needs.Would like food to include healthy, nutritious options, not snacky foods. Also
something that reflects cultural groups of immigrant communities who have been disparately impacted
by Operation Metro Surge. Would like to feature Robbinsdale or nearby busin …
