Thank you. All right. All in favor. Thank you. utilizing their school counselors to get their schedule set and ready. CCHS saw an improvement in AP testing scores. More data will be shared when available, and Shiloh is excited that CCHS just added AP European History to our schedule, which brings our in-person AP offerings to 16 classes. My tennis season runs from August to October. During this time, there may be conflicts for me to attend a few Board of Education meetings in person. If there is a conflict, I will work with the Board to submit a student body report in advance of the meeting. August 13th, today, I have an away match and will not be able to attend. Sincerely, Shiloh. So she's making sure that we stay informed, and thank you both for that information. At this time, Ms. Christy Hodges, Director of Curriculum Instruction is going to do a short presentation on Title I. Good evening, Board Chair, Ms. Parker, Board members, and Dr. Lutz. This evening, I'm here to request approval of our 2026-2027 Title I Plan. Title I is a feder ally funded program designed to support students who are struggling or at risk of struggling to meet state academic standards. The goal is to ensure that all children, regardless of background, have a fair and equal opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Schools at or above 35% impoverished are eligible to be served. The District's Title I allotment for the 2026-2027 year is $565,945, a decrease of $10,222 from the 25-26 academic yea …

Thank you. And at this time we can, we need a motion to approve the agenda, correct? Do we need to motion, second, and vote on the agenda? Yes. Okay, so we can take a motion to approve the agenda. Okay. So we can take a motion on the approval of the agenda from Ms. Snowden. Is there a second? A second. All right, second? All right, second, any discussion? Any discussion? All right, we'll take a vote on the motion, any discussion? All in favor, aye. All right, aye. All opposed? Like sign? Agenda is approved. Next up we have the minutes which you should have seen but they are before you as well. If anyone would like to make a motion to approve the minutes? We have a motion. Is there a second? I'll second. We have a second. Any further discussion? Hearing none. We'll take a vote on the minutes. All in favor, aye. Aye. All opposed? Like sign. Minutes are approved. All right. Unfinished business. And it's an individual building structure, site, area, or object that has either historical, architectural, or cultural significance. And that has been recognized by official designation by the Currituck County Boa …

Thank you. picture does not do it justice. Driving down the beach does not do it justice. Describing it does not do it justice. You have to experience it, and then when it comes up and we're discussing things to do with the 4x4, then you can put it in a perspective, but we love where we live, and we'd love to share it with you, and so yeah, I hope you guys do come out, inviting the county manager and the attorney and planning and zoning. If you guys will join us, that would be great. I will be out there Saturday, writing county ordinance violations to people not abiding by the rules and probably working the ramp. Well, see, you know what that is, but we would love for everybody here to put a perspective on what that is like, especially with things like the laughing doll. I will say, in my air conditioning business, I'm always up there, so I've had to drive up close to the dunes with the water hitting my truck and going around. I've seen it all. Yeah, but maybe not everybody has. But you're right, it's fun out there. I will tell you, Carol, that for us to, all of us to go and our attorney and our clerk as to how to facilitate that without violating open meetings law. Absolutely. And just so you know, Carol, both Commissioner Rose and myself, we will be in Durham for the state convention that Friday, so the 21st will not be possible for me or Ms. Rose. If you guys, if we have enough notice, maybe we can accommodate. We'll do the best we can. Getting a big group of people togeth …

Good evening. I'd like to call the June 30th, 2026 Board of Education meeting to order. At this time, Ms. Ayers will lead us in the invocation. As we gather this evening, let us take a moment to reflect with gratitude for the rest and renewal that summer has provided. As we look ahead to a new school year, we are reminded that each new beginning brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and make a positive difference in the lives of our students . May we approach the work before us with wisdom, compassion, and a shared commitment to serving every child. We also lift up our teachers, staff, administrators, and families as they prepare to welcome students back, creating schools where every student feels safe, valued, and inspired to succeed. May the upcoming school year be filled with hope, purpose, and the promise of new beginnings. - Thank you, Sandy. At this time, Mr. Banks will lead us in the pledge. - Last one. - Let's face the corner. - This is fun. - There's no flag, so. - No flag. - We'll look in that corner. - Yeah, we'll look in the corner. - I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. - I promise the public we've done this before, but we've had a busy day, so we're going to roll with it today. - Yes. - At this time, I need a motion to approve the agenda. - So moved. - Do I have a second? - Second. - All in favor? - Aye. - All right, mot …
