The City of Tampa's Special Magistrate will hear 10 code enforcement cases, including six requests for modification of compliance deadlines and four requests for fine reduction. At the September 23, 2026 Municipal Code Enforcement Special Magistrate hearing, Special Magistrate Thomas A. Trask granted six requests to extend compliance deadlines, setting new dates between October 21 and December 16, 2026, with previously imposed fines left unchanged. The magistrate also granted three requests to reduce accrued fines, lowering amounts of $1,500, $8,750, and $3,500 to $500 each, payable by October 21, 2026, with the original amounts reinstated if payment is missed. One fine reduction hearing was continued to October 28, 2026 at the request of Assistant City Attorney Camaria Mackle. Most cases involved the code section requiring building permits (5-105.1).
