The Morehead City Planning Board approved the preliminary plat for a 9-lot commercial subdivision at 5077 and 5043 Business Drive, after tabling it in December 2024 to resolve easement questions. The plat was revised to include two additional access easements. The board also approved the December 11, 2024 minutes with a correction to Councilman Lee Stiles' name.

City Council

The City Council adopted several budget and code ordinances and approved a commercial subdivision sketch plan. The body also initiated the annexation process for a property on Highway 70 and updated rules regarding shared driveways in minor subdivisions.

City Council

The Town Council will hold public hearings on updating setback and parking requirements for boat storage and shared driveway rules. The body is also considering a commercial subdivision at 125 Arthur Farm Road and the annexation of property at 5280 Highway 70.

The Morehead City Council adopted Ordinance 2025-O-01, allowing shared driveways as primary access in minor subdivisions (5-1, Ballou opposed). The parking study recommendations were removed from the agenda and delayed to the February 2025 meeting.
