REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 10, 2026 AT 6:00 P.M. MILES CITY HALL Mayor Brandon Meyer called the regular council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. L. Horst, N. Corlis, N. Voss, and A. Petersen were present. ABSENT: Ron Wilslef. Mayor Brandon Meyer presided. Agenda: The agenda was approved unanimously. GUESTS: Police Officer Joel Driscoll, Jackson, Dennis Johnson, Ashley Johnson and children, Amanda Dupont. BARN OF DREAMS PRESENTATION: A group of active Jackson County 4H youth and their parents presented the mission to raise funds to give back to the youth of Jackson County who exhibit livestock each summer at the Jackson County Fair. Many of the youth exhibit livestock at a local and national level and are raising money for a new Dairy Barn at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Each speaker explained the need for a new facility. President Ashley Johnson explained that this will benefit all of Jackson County and currently are working with the Jackson County Fair Board and has the approval of the Board of Supervisors to pursue this educational opportunity. The committee is making Miles aware of this endeavor and are not asking anything from the City at this time, but looking for the possibility of future support as they apply for grant funding. The mayor informed Council that he and Brenda attended an informal demonstration at Easton Valley Elementary School regarding potential marketing opportunities for the City of Miles. The mayor asked if Council would be interested in having KO Collection provide a marketing demonstration, which would be offered as a free service to the City of Miles. L. REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 13, 2025 AT 6:00 P .M. MILES CITY HALL Mayor Brandon Meyer called the regular council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. L. Horst, N. Corlis, N. Voss, R. Wilslef, and A. Petersen were present. Mayor Brandon Meyer presided. Agenda: The agenda was approved unanimously. GUESTS: Carla Jochum, Larry & Vicki Johnson, Police Officer Joel Driscoll, Steve Cotton, Warren Moeller, Glenn Mommsen, Jesse Jepsen, Dennis Johnson, and Paul Maze. Warren Moeller, representing Great River Threshers, approached the City Council to inquire whether the City would be interested in selling approximately 5.05 acres of city-owned property. Warren explained that Great River Threshers is expanding its events and is currently running out of space. The mayor informed Warren that, if the City were to consider selling the property, the process would require a public hearing and the property would need to be offered through the appropriate legal process, including bids. The mayor emphasized that ownership would not be guaranteed through this process. Warren then asked whether the City could grant a “right of first refusal. ” The mayor indicated that this option would require consultation with the City Attorney before any determination could be made. The mayor suggested that, if the City were to sell a smaller portion of land—approximately one acre located south of the pulling track—that area might be sufficient for the proposed mud pit. Warren …
