regard to the ordinance. Took a man dying. You're always reactive. You're looking in the rear view mirror. Now you have to come in with damage control. That's what this is all about. Let's face it. But you won't admit that. You won't admit it. Okay? That's the problem with you folks. You don't give us any truth. And we can't get it out of you. It's the same thing with the vendors on the streets. They had propane tanks on the sidewalks for a year. These could have exploded and killed our residents. They were feeding them unpermitted food. Took her a year to fix the problem. All it took was a security agency, a private security agency to chase them away. She could have done that back in 2023. Okay? She didn't do it. She waited a year. Same with the illicit marijuana dispensaries. Same thing. We had an ordinance on the books. Okay? Paid the city attorney $200,000 to do the whack-a-mole prosecutions on it. Okay? That's true. All right? And all it took was an amendment to the nuisance ordinance. Could have been done months, maybe a year earlier. So this is the problem we have with this city. You folks won't admit your faults. You won't come clean. That's why I'm so disappointed when I come up to this podium. I'd love to congratulate you. Thank you for your comments. And by the way, my seat is up in 2028. Our next public commenter is Amy Stevens. There you go. You hear him? That's all he's done. Yes. Good evening, mayor and council members. I am not one of those to complain about that. It provides a safety net where games are being played or just when people are using the field, whether for baseball, softball, or cricket. Even with the fence, there's still ample green space available for those who want to do pickup soccer or ultimate frisbee games. One thing about the baseball field I would like to bring up, and that is the pitching mound. It is left out there permanently, and it's so large and heavy, people cannot move it when they want to use the field for softball or cricket. In fact, where it's placed right is at the 50-foot distance for those of us who practice slow-pitch softball or where the bowler's pitch would be for cricket. To be honest, when I saw the baseball games at the field, most of the teams were in lower divisions that did not use the raised pitching mound, which makes me wonder why it's there. In addition, once that mound was installed, it was attracted to e-bikers who used the mound as a ramp to jump off of, both causing unnecessary wear to the mound and the field. I would ask the city to either remove the mound or get something lighter that can be moved and stored when the field is not being used for baseball. On a different topic, I know that the city now has a 50-plus night for gym basketball. I would ask the city to consider this for softball. We don't have to form teams right away. We can start with having a night where the field is open for 50-plus age players to do a pickup game, and …

Obviously, to make an example, the city went on to intentionally ignore its it their own policies and existing laws to serve unlawful citations on this landlord. After considerable expense by the landlord, the State of California Administrative Appeals Court reverse …
