Juneau Commission on Sustainability

The Juneau Commission on Sustainability will discuss the preliminary draft report for the 2021 Energy Use and GHG Inventory. The meeting also includes a discussion regarding takeaways from the inventory update and a sustainability session.

The Commission reviewed a preliminary draft of the 2021 Energy Use and GHG Inventory report. Members discussed the inclusion of cruise ship emissions and the planning of a future sustainability session for the assembly. The commission approved sending a draft Earth Day proclamation to the Mayor.

Juneau Commission on Aging

The Juneau Commission on Aging Housing Subcommittee is meeting to discuss its role, housing targets, and incentives. The agenda also includes reviews of the 2020 Juneau Senior Survey and items regarding Telephone Hill.

The newly formed Housing Subcommittee met to define its role and identify priority areas for age-friendly housing. The group discussed developing talking points, a mantra, and a plan to present housing recommendations to the Assembly by June.

Building Code Advisory Committee

The Building Code Advisory Committee is reviewing progress on the adoption of 2015, 2018, and 2021 codes. Members reported on completed reviews of various plumbing, electrical, and mechanical code sections. The committee also assigned new review tasks for upcoming 2021 code updates.

Docks & Harbors Board

The Docks & Harbors Board will consider recommendations for property appraisals and exchanges. The board will also review a proposed consumer price index adjustment for certain fees ranging from 0% to 8.1%. Other items include discussions on harbor rate increase outreach and Aurora Harbor updates.

Juneau Human Rights Commission

The Juneau Human Rights Commission will review the FY25 budget proposal and the 2022-23 Strategic Plan. The agenda also includes discussions regarding a draft resolution on the Municipal Equality Index and support for Ukrainian refugees.

Systemic Racism Review Committee
