The Public Hearing was declared open by Chairman Linger at 6:21 p.m.
ROLL CALL: All Legislators were present.
Ms. Ernst read aloud the Notice of Public Hearing aloud which was published in the
official newspapers of the County, The Mountain Eagle on August 7, 2026 and The Times
Union on August 8, 2026. Chairman Linger thanked Ms. Ernst.
Chairman Linger stated that the purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear comments from
the public with regard to the 2026-2027 Operating Budget Of The Columbia-Greene
Community College. Chairman Linger asked is there was anybody who wished to be heard
regarding this matter.
Mr. Izzo stated, "Mr. Izzo stated, “(Audio cut out) legislature, members present from the

I thank you for the opportunity to speak regarding the proposed Columbia Greene
Community College budget. I want to begin by making something clear, while we are
bringing community college an important institution to Greene and Columbia counties.

Chairperson Linger stated, “I'd like to open the public hearing with regard to Local Law
Introductory Number 2 of 2026, a local law of the County of Greene providing that the
primary residence of a seriously disabled veteran shall be fully exempt from taxation and
special district charges, assessments, and special ad valorem levies pursuant to Section 458-
A subsection 11 of the Real Property Tax Law, and at this time, I will ask Tanya to read the
Notice of Public Hearing.”
Ms. Ernst read the notice aloud.
Chairman Linger stated, “Okay, thank you, Tanya. The purpose of this public hearing is to
hear comments from the public with regard to Local Law Introductory Number 2 of 2026, a

Mr. Hannahs stated, " Think we're good. I know I have a jam-packed agenda for you tonight, so I won't
take too much of your time, but the few things: I want to do a little bit of a debrief after Rev 250. First,
thank you to the legislature for the support. It was a really successful event despite the pressing heat. We
still had about 200 people show up for the ceremony, and initial reports are at least 1,600 to 2,000 people
that showed up for the festivities itself, and it had 30 vendors throughout the night. So, it was a really
