✓ Decided: Charter amendments off 2026 ballot; new commission sought for November 2027

The Charter Review Commission decided its proposed charter amendments will not appear on the ballot this year because of a split between the Board of Elections Commissioners. The commission decided to request that the mayor establish a new commission with the same members to place the amendments on the ballot for November 2027; the commission cannot be established until after the November 2026 election. The commission's work is done, and the time will be used to educate the public on the proposed changes. The mayor indicated support for this option at the last City Council meeting.

Mayor will need to appoint a new Chairman as current Chairman cannot continue due to new position. Tony to get opinion from AG office on timing of submittal next year. R.
