For a little background: When the idea to host the Newt Scoot was first brought to our attention in
2024, it was actually the team at MEPRD who approached us and helped us get it off the ground by
connecting us to the trail community through marketing and planning efforts.
We reached out to them last year to collaborate together again, inviting them to join as a sponsor, but
with their limitations as a government organization, they took a step back and instead suggested this
grant program. Unfortunately, the window of time in which we had to complete a project proposal and
submit a completed application was not feasible as we were navigating a "new" way to host both

funding the Village used it's QBS process to select Volkert as the design engineer. Mr. Slemer
recommended approval of the agreement with Volkert.
