Indigent Defense Grant Program
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Government Code Section 79.037 and Texas
Administrative Code Chapter 173, counties are eligible to receive grants from the Texas
Indigent Defense Commission to provide improvements in indigent defense services in the
county; and
WHEREAS, this grant program will assist the county in the implementation and the
improvement of the indigent criminal defense services in this county; and

ORDER OF COMMISSIONERS COURT EXTENDING
DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2026, Daniel D. Jones, County Judge of Gillespie County, Texas,
issued a local declaration of disaster certifying that heavy rain, flash flooding in low lying
areas, and major river flooding all created an ongoing and imminent threat of widespread or
severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property in Gillespie County due to flooding; and
WHEREAS, on July 21, 2026, Judge Daniel D. Jones continued and renewed the local state of
disaster based on the continued, ongoing, and imminent threat posed by the storm damage
and need for disaster recovery; and
WHEREAS, the declaration expires on July 23, 2026, unless renewed and continued by the
Commissioners Court of Gillespie County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, under Section 418.108(b) of the Texas Government Code, a local state of disaster
