Board of County Commissioners

The Board of Clallam County Commissioners will hold a work session to discuss and review several agreements, including contracts for a family court facilitator, respite care, drug checking, and various grants. They will also discuss jail space, review a draft ordinance on sign regulations, and receive updates on the Carlsborg Water Supply Project and American Rescue Plan Act funds. One item, an agreement with Clallam-Jefferson Pro Bono Lawyers for a Family Court Facilitator, was removed from the agenda.

Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Committee

The Clallam County Sheriff's Citizens Advisory Committee will discuss personnel changes including retirements, resignations, and promotions, as well as new equipment and technology enhancements. The meeting includes re-appointment of three members and updates on community events.

Board of Equalization

Solid Waste Advisory Committee

Noxious Weed Control Board

The Clallam County Noxious Weed Control Board will hold a public hearing to adopt the 2023 Clallam County Noxious Weed List, which includes state-required Class A and B designated weeds. Following the hearing, the board will consider integrated weed management (IWM) plans from the Road, Parks, and Community Development departments for 2023. The meeting also includes adoption of prior minutes, staff and financial reports, and travel vouchers.

Marine Resources Committee

The Clallam Marine Resources Committee (MRC) will meet to receive updates on the Olympia oyster contract (now signed by the Board of County Commissioners), forage fish survey results, and the establishment of the Coaster and Shore Friendly committees. The meeting also includes a Northwest Straits Commission update and planning for a February 23rd retreat.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission will discuss and consider a final draft red-lined sign ordinance that updates definitions, exempt and prohibited signs, permitting, commercial sign standards, and adds enforcement with a 90-day correction period and fines. No public hearing is scheduled; the item is unfinished business from the previous meeting. A public workshop on the sign code is planned for February 1, 2023.
