Signal Hill public meetings in 2021

City Council

The Signal Hill City Council will meet to reorganize leadership by selecting a new Mayor and Vice Mayor. The council will also consider an urgency ordinance regarding urban lot splits and two-unit projects in single-family residential zones. Additionally, members will review opting into opioid settlement agreements and a contract for bicycle lane improvements.

The Signal Hill City Council held a regular meeting via teleconference on December 14, 2021. They adopted Ordinance No. 2021-11-1529 approving Zoning Ordinance Amendment 21-02 to amend the official zoning map, and adopted an urgency ordinance adding Chapter 18.26 (Urban Lot Splits) and Section 20.10.041 (Two-Unit Projects) to the municipal code. The council also approved several city manager reports and consent calendar items, including a contract for the Spring Street Bicycle Lane Gap Closure Project and opting into opioid settlement agreements.

City Council as Successor Agency

The City Council, acting as Successor Agency, will consider adopting the Recognized Obligation Payment Schedule (ROPS) for fiscal year 2022-2023. This budget covers obligations from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. The resolution includes transmitting the schedule to the Los Angeles County 4th Supervisorial District Consolidated Oversight Board for review.

City Council

The City Council is considering the purchase of property at 1925 E. 21st Street to expand Signal Hill Park. The agenda also includes a second reading of an ordinance for a pipeline franchise and a landscape contract for park improvements. Caltrans will present on beautification efforts along the I-405 corridor.

The Signal Hill City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2021-09-1528 granting a franchise to Tesoro SoCal Pipeline Company, LLC. The council also approved consent calendar items including a public works agreement with Green Giant Landscape, Inc., the warrant register, and meeting minutes. A real property purchase agreement for 1925 E. 21st Street was tabled.
