Mr. Lowe presented the fuel bids to the board with the recommendation that Cadence Oil be
awarded the annual fuel contract based on being the most responsive and responsible bidder.

Appointment to DBHDD Region 6 Advisory Council
Mr. Brewer presented an amendment to resolution 46 fixing appointments to Authorities,
Boards and Committees by adding the name of Andrea Ford for appointment to the Region 6

Update on Millage Hearings
Mr. Brewer presented an update on the millage hearings and advertising scheduled for August,
with an explanation of the ad requiring the county to advertise a millage increase, even though
the mil rate would be dropped nearly two mils and the frozen home values would see a

Chairman Brown opened the workshop at 5:00 PM with all Members present. Mr. Brewer
introduced Resolution 46, reappointing Allen Byars to the Planning and Zoning Commission for
a five-year term and Belinda Davis to the DFACS Board of Directors for a five-year term.
Resolution 46 also abolishes the Butts County Transportation Board and the Board of
Adjustments and Appeals, also known as the Construction Board, which would be removed
from any future consideration for appointments. This was placed on the Consent Agenda as
Item A for approval.
