The scope of the work involves policies in operation, new mandates and policies derived from State of California legislation, and policy needs for Palo Alto Unified School District.
The operations of the committee are informed by:
• The Brown Act in effect in the State of California.
• The amended Charge Statement to the BPRC adopted by the Palo Alto Unified School District Board of Education at the regular meeting of September 11, 2014.
• The meeting protocols in effect for all Board of Education meetings in the District.

PAUSD will permit handheld signs that are less than 2 feet by 3 feet, provided they are not mounted on poles or sticks, do not pose a safety hazard, are not raised above shoulder level, are not raised while standing, and are not used to block views, cameras, walkways, or passage. These rules will apply in a viewpoint-neutral manner and will be enforced to prevent actual disruptions and maintain safe, accessible meetings for all participants.
Community members may share their views by emailing the Board of Education at board@pausd.org or by speaking during the designated public comment periods.
