The Bayfield County Personnel Committee will discuss and possibly act on 2027 staffing requests, including new positions, reclassifications, and grade changes, as well as health insurance options for 2027. Eder announced that Support Staff had completed the 2025 Annual Report.
Eder and Croteau completed the 2027 budget.
The yearly audit and exit review has been completed. Eder, Heather Gilbertson and
Sarah Traaholt met with the auditor from Baker Tilly on August 4. There were no
findings yet. Eder commended Gilbertson on her first audit since becoming the DHS
bookkeeper, stating that she did a great job.
Support Staff are working to reorganize the vault and remove old files. It is a big
project that will probably continue through …

Board hears request to reduce shoreline setback for driveway extension
The Bayfield County Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on case #26-01B, where applicants Stephen Nold and Susan Lindahl seek a reduced shoreline setback of 35 feet (instead of the required 75 feet) to allow a driveway extension, a holding tank, and part of a new residence on a 0.87‑acre lot. After testimony, the board will deliberate and decide on the setback request. The meeting will also address approval of minutes from the February 26, 2026 meeting, discuss any unfinished work or pending cases, and consider motions to enter and later exit a closed session for legal counsel consultation.
