The Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee on June 30 was scheduled to hear about a Boy Scout project to improve Sunrise Peak Trail, along with broader trail refurbishment discussions. Farewell remarks were planned for three departing members.

Other Meeting Activity

The Broadband Committee’s June 24 meeting was canceled. The Economic Development Committee that same day intended to review progress on the Village Center Pedestrian Access and Safety Plan and discuss new economic initiatives. The Cemetery Commission meeting on June 30 was also canceled. The Library Board of Trustees on June 30 planned to review public survey results and updates on its Strategic Plan and Space Study.

Coming Up

The Select Board meets again on July 6 with public hearings on National Grid electric conduit and joint pole locations at Oldwood Road, Southwood Road, and Ridge Road. The board will also consider temporary food truck permits for Kona Ice and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, authorization to conduct a police sergeant promotional process, and recruiting a firefighter/paramedic.

On July 8, the Planning Board will hold a continued public hearing for a 609-square-foot accessory dwelling unit at 6 Hitching Post Lane. Other agenda items include a golf simulator sign at 757 Main Street, a release of covenants for an ADU at 947 Main Street, a beekeeping discussion, and an update on YMCA pickleball courts.
