Cedar Fort boards meet on zoning, impact fees; decisions not yet published
Cedar Fort's Planning & Zoning Commission and Town Council held regular meetings on Aug. 11 and Aug. 18, but no decisions have been reported. Minutes from both meetings are not yet available, so the outcome of the agenda items below is unknown.
Planning & Zoning Commission (Aug. 11)
The commission met at 7:00 PM at Town Hall (50 East Center Street). The posted agenda included discussion and possible approval of:
- Zone changes and code revisions, including the MG40 and AR-40 zones and a revision regarding cul-de-sacs.
- A preliminary review of Cedar Berry Estates Phase 1, including a temporary access easement, proposed cul-de-sacs, and prescriptive access.
- A building permit and business license for the Sopher Residence.
- West Canyon Road speed limit signs and road restrictions.
A public comment period was limited to 2–3 minutes per person. Separate notices for the same date listed only draft minutes or an audio recording as the agenda content; the items above come from the most detailed notice.
Town Council (Aug. 18)
The Town Council held a public hearing and regular meeting at 7:00 PM at 50 East Center Street. The agenda included:
- Public hearings on Title 10 amendments (MG40 zoning, Sensitive Overlay Zones, APWA Standards) and on Title 5 and Title 6 amendments.
- A business item on impact fees.
- A concept review for the Cedar Berry Subdivision.
- A MAG Grant Match Agreement.
The council also received department reports and could enter a closed meeting for property, litigation, or personnel matters. As with the Planning Commission, no minutes have been published, so no decisions are known.
Notes on the notices
Several agenda notices for both meetings were posted with minimal content—some contained only an audio recording or draft minutes. The town clerk's contact information (Kandice Johnson, 801-768-2147, clerk@cedarfort.gov) was listed for ADA accommodations and general inquiries.
Coming up
No upcoming meetings are listed for the next 14 days. Residents should check the town's official website or contact the clerk for the latest schedule.
