Davis County Commission to consider $14M mental health funding amendment

Davis County officials this week considered a $4 million land purchase for supportive housing, a $1.8 million health center contract, and proposed tax increases in several cities. All items remain pending; meeting minutes have not yet been published, and no final votes have been recorded.

Supportive housing and land purchase

The Davis County Commission held a public hearing on July 28 on a CDBG Section 108 loan guarantee application for land acquisition for permanent supportive and transitional housing. The commission also considered ratifying a $4,000,000 real estate purchase contract, pending HUD approval. The item is scheduled again for the commission's August 11 regular meeting, along with a separate public hearing on August 14 for a proposed CDBG Section 108 loan application seeking up to $4.7 million from HUD for land and infrastructure improvements for the same housing types.

Budget and contracts

At its July 28 meeting, the commission held a public hearing on Resolution #2026-0025 to amend the 2026 operating and capital budgets.
