Daggett County boards take up vehicle repairs, water plant changes, floodplain rules

County Commission

The Daggett County Commission met Aug. 11 and Aug. 18. Municipal Building Authority

The Daggett County Municipal Building Authority met Aug. 11 and Aug. 18. On Aug. 11, the board considered Change Order 5 for the Dutch John Water Treatment Plant and Change Order 16 for the DCHBCC, plus a closed session under Utah Code §52-4-205.

On Aug. 18, the board discussed updates on the Water Treatment Plant and New Clinic Building projects, along with cash summaries, accounts receivable, and open invoice registers. That meeting also included a possible closed session.

Planning & Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Commission held two meetings Aug. 18. The first was a public meeting to review an updated site plan for an RV dump station, a resolution update for floodplain management (Resolution 04-04), revised planning and zoning bylaws, and two land use code violations for Parcel Numbers 01-0095-0010 and 01-0130-0005. The commission also discussed an accessory dwelling unit ordinance update.

The second was a work meeting focused on the same floodplain resolution, including a draft floodplain development permit and a Flood Damage Prevention code, plus updated planning and zoning bylaws. No final decisions were listed on either agenda.

Economic Development Advisory Board

Daggett County bodies held a full slate of meetings July 20–28, covering the 2026 Primary Republican Election canvass, vehicle and equipment purchases, water treatment plant change orders, and planning and zoning amendments. Minutes from these meetings have not yet been published, so outcomes listed below reflect agenda items and cannot be confirmed as final decisions.

Election canvass

The Daggett County Elections body met July 20 at 9:00 AM in Manila to canvass the 2026 Primary Republican Election results, including consideration of corrected reports. No minutes are available yet to confirm the canvass outcome.

Vehicle and equipment purchases

The Daggett County Commission and Redevelopment Agency had multiple purchase requests on July 21 and July 28 agendas. Items included:

Daggett County Boards Consider Healthcare Provider Change, Drought Emergency, and Budget Items

Daggett County officials met over the past two weeks to consider a transition in healthcare providers, a drought emergency declaration, and several infrastructure and equipment purchases. Healthcare Provider Transition

On July 17, the Daggett County Commission was scheduled to accept a proposal from Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC) as the next area medical provider for the New Community Health and Social Services Building. Uintah Basin Healthcare (UBH) gave official notice to conclude clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, and radiological services by October 2, 2026. The Manila Health Clinic was planned to move into the new building by September. The commission was also scheduled to accept a proposal from an unnamed dentist.

Drought Emergency and Election Canvass

The July 14 County Commission agenda included Resolution 26-13, which would declare a drought emergency in Daggett County.
