Woodland Hills council weighs land sale, City Center repairs; planning commission hears code changes

Woodland Hills city officials met this month on a range of items, including a potential sale of city-owned land near Bear Hollow, exterior repairs to the City Center, and proposed changes to subdivision and zoning rules. Minutes from these meetings have not yet been published, so no official decisions are available to report.

City Council (Aug. 11)

The City Council held a work session and regular meeting on Aug. 11. The agenda included a vote on selling approximately 0.25 acres of city-owned real property near Bear Hollow (Utah County parcels 53:367:0122 and 53:367:0146), which would first require declaring the land surplus. The council also was set to approve a contract for repairs to the exterior of the City Center at 690 South Woodland Hills Drive, adopt Resolution 2026-45 to dissolve the Community Development Committee, and approve June and July 2026 financials and check disbursements. Discussion items included snowplow leases, an update on the pavement preservation project, and the pickleball court.

Parks, Recreation and Trails Committee (Aug. 18)

The parks committee met to approve minutes from May 19 and discuss trail-related items. No decisions were listed on the agenda. Topics included setting a date for a trail maintenance project, adding signage, and following up on the Conservancy of the Switchback Trails.

Planning Commission (Aug. 19)

The Planning Commission held a public hearing and regular meeting on Aug. 19 at the City Office. The commission heard comment on two sets of proposed code amendments and was scheduled to vote on them. The first set, to Title 11.4.5, addresses administration, extension, forfeiture, inspection, acceptance, and release of performance guarantees and durability retainers for subdivision improvements, plus objective inspection standards and fees. The second set, to Title 10 (Zoning Regulations), covers driveway standards, building permits, setback requirements for corner lots and accessory buildings, swimming pool fencing and safety, RV parking, and parking lot design. The commission also considered approval of the Summit Creek G1-B final plat for recording, pending final inspection, water rights verification, and bonding, and received a status report on the Bellview Phase B Subdivision and a grading study for its building envelope. The commission's recommendations on the code amendments will go to the City Council.
