Smithfield Council, Planning Commission scheduled to vote on zoning, fees, ADU rules
The Smithfield City Council and Planning Commission held meetings in August to consider zoning changes, a fee schedule update, and accessory dwelling unit regulations. Minutes have not yet been published, so no decisions are confirmed.
City Council (Aug. 12)
The council was scheduled to hold public hearings on two Cache County Council of Governments (COG) applications for road projects: one south of 250 East 600 South, and one at 600 South 1000 East going southward.
The council was also scheduled to vote on:
- Ordinance 2026-10, amending the zoning Use Matrix Table (Title 17, Chapter 17.120)
- Resolution 2026-09, amending the Prevailing Fee Schedule
The agenda included a closed session to discuss the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property.
Planning Commission (Aug. 19)
The Planning Commission was scheduled to hold a public hearing and possibly vote on Ordinance 2026-13, which amends Title 17 Zoning Regulations, specifically Chapter 17.92 (Accessory Dwelling Unit) and Chapter 17.120 (Use Matrix Table).
The commission was also to approve minutes from its July 15 meeting and take public comment on items not on the agenda.
