Pleasant View Council to weigh tax increment deals, rezone; no decisions finalized yet
Pleasant View officials have a full slate of meetings this month, but none of the items have been formally decided — minutes from the recent sessions have not yet been published. The most consequential items on the agenda involve property tax revenue agreements and a zoning change.
Tax increment agreements for Rise Community Reinvestment Area
At the Aug. 11 City Council meeting, the Redevelopment Agency was scheduled to consider two resolutions authorizing interlocal agreements with Weber County, Weber County School District, North View Fire District, and Pleasant View City. The agreements would remit property tax increment from the Rise Community Reinvestment Property Area to the Agency for public infrastructure and other project-area benefits. The agenda also included a consent item to approve minutes from the July 14, 2026 meeting.
Rezone and Rise Bakery tax deal
The following day, Aug. 12, the council was set to consider two items listed as "adopted":
- Ordinance 2026-20, which would rezone property at 1377 W PV Drive from A-2 to RE-20.
- Resolution 2026-X, an interlocal agreement with Pleasant View City and the city's Redevelopment Agency to provide tax increments to Rise Bakery.
Because the minutes have not been published, these actions are not yet official.
Other recent meetings
On Aug. 19, the council met to review a notice of unclaimed evidence and property from the police department. The agenda contained only that single item.
On Aug. 20, a special meeting was held at the city office for a wrap-up session on the Founders Day Celebration 2026. No other business was listed.
