White City Council to weigh bike rules, wildfire code; no decisions yet
White City Council met on August 14, 2026, to consider five ordinances, each on a single-item agenda. No decisions have been published yet, as minutes are not available. The most consequential item is a proposed ordinance regulating bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters.
Bike, e-bike, and scooter rules
Ordinance No. 2026-O-03 would enact Title 11, Chapter 34 of the municipal code, covering bicycles, micromobility devices, e-bikes, and e-scooters. This was the only item on that agenda.
Wildfire code update
Ordinance 2026-O-04 would amend Section 15.08.011 to replace the 2006 Utah Wildland-Urban Interface Code with the 2024 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code, in compliance with H.B. 41. The change would repeal the 2006 code.
Tie-breaking procedure
Ordinance 2026-O-05 would establish a tie-breaking procedure for council votes, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 20A-1-510(3)(e)(i) and (ii). The meeting was held at 999 East Galena Drive, White City, UT 84123, and allowed electronic participation for council members.
Title 1 amendments
Ordinance No. 2026-O-02 would amend Title 1 (General Provisions) of the White City Municipal Code. A public hearing was scheduled, and a redline version of the proposed amendments was attached to the agenda. The meeting was at 999 East Galena Drive, White City, UT 84094, at 1:30 PM.
Parks master plan committee
On August 13, the Parks Master Plan Advisory Committee met to receive presentations on the park master plan. Landmark Design's Sam Taylor presented material, and committee members and MSD staff held a question-and-feedback session. No formal decisions were listed on the agenda. The meeting was at Canyons District Office, 9361 S 300 E, Sandy, UT 84070, with a Zoom option available (passcode 216066).
All five council meetings were agenda-only, with minutes not yet published. The parks committee meeting also had no formal decisions.
