Town and Country board weighs group home, pickleball project, drone show
The Town and Country Board of Aldermen met Aug. 10 to consider a conditional use permit for a group home, a design-build agreement for a pickleball and bike playground, and a drone show for the Fire & Ice event. Minutes from that meeting have not yet been published, so no official decisions are available. Other recent meetings included an architectural review and a police/fire/EMS commission discussion.
Board of Aldermen (Aug. 10)
The board’s agenda included several ordinances and contracts:

- Design-build agreement with American Ramp Company for the Preservation Park Pickleball and Bike Playground Project (Bill 26-36)

Architectural Review Board (Aug. 3)
The board reviewed three new single-family home projects and one front façade alteration:
- New single-family house at 715 Elk Grove Ct.
- Front façade alteration at 12515 Windmoor Pl.
- New single-family house at 1932 Sturfield Ln.
The board also approved minutes from its July 6 meeting. No major decisions or contracts were on the agenda.
Police, Fire & EMS Commission (Aug. 4)
The commission reviewed reports from aldermen and fire/EMS and police chiefs. The only action item was a discussion of the Firearms Acquisition Project. The agenda also included:
- Awards presented to Officers Besore, Wolfe, Prewitt, and Sergeant Sapienza
- Introduction of new Officer Kennon

- **Parks & Trails Commission** – Aug. 17 (today): Review of 2026 project updates, including the Longview parking lot and Preservation Park pickleball/bike playground, plus discussion of a 20-year plan covering Drace park improvements, recycling, invasive species, and a community garden.
