Springdale Council approves fee schedule, easement, RAP funding; tables code of conduct

The Springdale Town Council on Aug. 12 approved an updated fee schedule for town services, granted a driveway easement to a property owner, and approved $5,000 in RAP Tax funding for the Zion Canyon Art Festival. Town Council (Aug. 12)

The council approved Resolution 2026-09, amending the schedule of fees for town services. The new fee schedule takes effect immediately, though specific fee amounts were not listed in the meeting summary.

Council members also approved an easement for Craig Neal to access his property at 117 Quail Ridge Road. The easement crosses a town parcel identified as S-161-A-1-C and will be used for driveway access.

Springdale Council approves budget amendment, URS pickup; Planning Commission reviews grading, parking, home approvals

The Springdale Town Council on June 24 unanimously approved a budget amendment and the annual Utah Retirement Systems public safety pickup election form, according to official minutes. The council also met to adjust the town's budget in response to lower-than-expected revenue.

Town Council actions

The council approved Resolution 2026-08, amending the FY2025-26 budget to adjust the fund balance because of lower revenue. The vote was unanimous.

Council members also unanimously approved the annual URS public safety pickup election form, which continues a Tier 2 contribution pickup rate of 5.98% for public safety employees for FY2026-27. The pickup means the town pays that portion of employees' retirement contributions.

Planning Commission considers development requests

The Planning Commission met on July 1 and considered several development-related items, according to the agenda. Minutes have not yet been published, so no decisions are available.

Items on the agenda included:

• A grading permit to expand a sunken patio at 2501 Anasazi Way.
• A design review for a parking lot extension at 50 Zion Park Blvd.
• Design review approvals for two single-family homes with accessory structures at 201 and 211 N Fork Dr.

The commission also noted public comments received.

Coming up

The Town Council is scheduled to meet on July 8. The agenda includes department reports from council members and the mayor, followed by consideration of a proposed interlocal agreement with the Hurricane Valley Fire Protection District (HVFPD).
