Economic Development Corporation – July 6

The EDC board will consider amending the FY 2026 budget for community center improvements and city promotional expenses. Members plan a budget worksession for FY 2027 and discussions on River Oaks Event Center upgrades.

City Council – July 7

Council members are set to vote on Resolution #1168-2026, an advance funding agreement with TxDOT for the Meandering Road extension from Roberts Cutoff to SH 183. The project calls for a two-lane roadway with sidewalks and intersection improvements. Also on the agenda: calling a November 3 general election jointly with Tarrant County; Ordinance #1488-2026 to expand the Crime Control budget for a body-worn camera program running May 2026 through May 2027; Ordinance #1486-2026 to cover unplanned electrical work at the community center using EDC funds; and a request from Victory Church to name a private road intersecting Roberts Cutoff. Council will also review a police chief’s report on homelessness.

Crime Control & Prevention District – July 7

The board will vote on continuing the body-worn camera system contract and hold a FY 2027 budget worksession. A public hearing on the budget is scheduled for August 18.

Staff meetings – July 7

A routine weekly staff meeting will feature departmental reports for internal coordination. No rezonings, contracts, or fee changes are on the agenda.
