Mount Pleasant boards consider library subdivision, fire truck bonds, and rezoning

Over the past two weeks, Mount Pleasant's Planning Commission, Recreation Commission, and City Commission met to review a range of items, including a proposed library subdivision, a rezoning request, and a $1.1 million bond issue for fire trucks. New business items included a craft day and Breakfast with Santa. The meeting also included a parks report and a city manager's report.

City Commission (Aug. 13)

The City Commission held public hearings and final readings on three ordinances, including a rezoning of 1681 North Main Street from low-density residential (R1) to highway commercial (CH). It also considered ordinances amending travel rules and open burning regulations. Resolutions on the agenda included a contract with Bass Berry Sims for a fire truck, a LeadsOnline contract for police services, and acceptance of a sewer line bond for Tractor Supply Company.

City Commission (Aug. 18)

The City Commission again considered the rezoning of 1681 North Main Street.
