Monroe County board agenda includes $1.6M in claims, indigent defense grant; minutes pending

Monroe County Board approves $3.9M in claims, court grants; Veterans committee awards aid

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved two accounts payable reports totaling $3,948,440.88 and authorized grant applications for four specialty courts at its Aug. 4 meeting. The board also appointed Nanette McCloud to the Community Mental Health Authority. In other action, the Veterans Affairs Committee approved $2,081.55 in burial and emergency aid.

Board of Commissioners

The board approved the 07/08/2026 Accounts Payable Current Claims Report for $1,455,620.95 and the 07/22/2026 report for $2,492,819.93. It also confirmed non-claims payments for five check registers totaling $3,382,085.07.

Grant applications were confirmed for four court programs, each with a required local contribution:

• Mental Health Recovery Court: $190,154.00 (local $1,031.00)
• Sobriety Court: $41,040.00 (local $65.00)
• Veterans Treatment Court: $36,771.00 (local $319.00)

Operations Committee
