County committee approves new positions, coroner van, ethics law
The Livingston County Ways and Means Committee on Aug. 10 approved creating three new full-time county positions, awarded a $54,350 bid for a coroner van, and adopted a local ethics law. All motions carried unanimously.
Ways and Means Committee (Aug. 10)
The committee approved the creation of three new positions:
- Assisted Outpatient Treatment Coordinator ($75,000–$78,000)
- Human Resources Generalist II – Labor Relations ($76,500–$85,000)
- Planning Fiscal Analyst (Wage Grade 16, effective Aug. 12, 2026)
It also awarded a bid for a Chrysler Voyager LX First Call Van to A.R. Mazz LTD for $54,350, and adopted Local Law 4-2026 amending the county’s Ethics and Disclosure Law. The committee set a public hearing for Oct. 14, 2026 on special assessment rolls, established Sept. 15 as the last day to redeem property and the first Thursday of November for property auctions, and set the mileage rate at .76 cents per mile effective July 1, 2026.
Board of Supervisors (Aug. 12)
The Board of Supervisors met Aug. 12, but minutes have not yet been published. The agenda included a public hearing on Local Law D-2026 (amending the ethics law), approval of Abstract of Claims #8A totaling $2,691,023.43, a contract with PointClickCare Technologies for electronic medical records at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation ($228,027.22 for year 1), a contract with Genesee Community College for staff development training ($306,422.66), and three emergency management grants from NYS DHSES totaling $278,028.
Planning Board (Aug. 13)
The Planning Board met Aug. 13, with minutes not yet published. The agenda included six zoning referrals, including a special use permit modification for mining at 1392 Oak Openings Road in Avon (Spallina Materials), a rezoning of four parcels in Dansville (Livingston County IDA), a subdivision and site plan for flex buildings and self-storage in Avon (PS Bruckel, Inc.), a subdivision and conditional use permit for a church and school on Livonia Center Road (Levi Shetler), and a site plan for a 12,280-square-foot metal roof manufacturing facility on Livonia Center Road (Aden Miller).

The Ways and Means Committee will meet Aug. 24 to consider creating a full-time Assistant County Attorney position ($90,000–$120,000), adjusting the Deputy Director of Community Mental Health Services salary range to $82,000–$103,000, and approving budget amendments including a $150,000 transfer to opioid programs, $12,000 for the Office for the Aging MLTC program, and $16,893.47 for the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI program.
The Board of Supervisors will meet Aug. 26 to consider amendments to the 2025 budget for the Office for the Aging, Sheriff’s Office, and Workforce Development; amendments to the 2026 salary schedule for the County Attorney and a portion of Resolution No. 2026-140 (Department of Health); a notice of claim in a lawsuit (Christina Wolfanger vs. Livingston County); and approval of Abstract of Claims #3B-August 26, 2026.
