Tehachapi council considers federal grant renewal, discusses July 4th street closures

The Tehachapi City Council at its June 30 meeting considered a resolution to renew a three-year cooperative agreement with Kern County for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Solutions Grant funding. The agreement is expected to bring about $150,000 over three years, or roughly $50,000 per year. Minutes from the meeting have not yet been published, so final council action is not confirmed.

City Council actions

Also on the June 30 agenda was a request to approve street closures for the July 4th parade and kids parade. The proposed closures covered sections of F Street, Robinson Street, Tehachapi Boulevard, Green Street, and other downtown routes.
