Heber City officials review budget, park projects, subdivision plan; decisions pending minutes

Heber City officials met last week to review a new city budget, a certified tax rate, park improvement projects, and a subdivision plan. City Council (Aug. 18)

The Parks, Open Space, Trails, and Trees Advisory Committee met to finalize its FY'27 Tap Tax project recommendations, totaling $301,000. The agenda included:

• $78,000 for a large boulder and $50,000 for a medium boulder at Parkview Place/Rock Wall Park.
• Shade pergolas with picnic benches at Parkview Place and Wasatch Vista Park ($12,000 each).
• $45,000 for a shade structure over the fitness court at Wasatch Vista Park.
• $44,000 to plant 126 trees across all parks in FY27.
• $48,000 to resurface the tennis court and add new nets at Valley Hills Park.

The Planning Commission will hold five public hearings on Aug. 25, 2026, on proposed amendments to the municipal code. The hearings will cover:

• Water and sewer connection standards for flag lots, condominiums, townhomes, and subordinate dwelling units.
