Hanford City Council to review Measure H spending, data center rules

The Hanford City Council will hold a study session and regular meeting on Aug. 18 to review Measure H revenues and expenditures for fiscal year 2025-26, discuss land use regulations for data center facilities, and consider several consent items, including an environmental site assessment and a final subdivision map. City Council (Aug. 18)

The council will hold a study session to review Measure H revenues and expenditures for FY 2025-26, including departmental presentations. • Approval of a $62,595 environmental site assessment for Alanis Trust parcels (APNs 012-045-006, 012-045-007).
• Adoption of Ordinance 26-04 amending Prezone 0013-24 for 80.95 acres of R-M (residential) and 5.45 acres of MX-N (mixed-use) near Grangeville Blvd and 9 1/4 Ave.
• Recording the final map for Tract 881-3 Live Oak East (Hidden Oaks Unit No. 3), a 128-lot subdivision at Hume Ave and 12th Ave.

Closed session items cover anticipated and existing litigation and property negotiations.

Parks and Recreation Commission (Aug. 10)

The commission will consider two public works items: reinstalling a zipline playground amenity at Lacey and Coe Parks, and removing the Lacey Water Feature (Big Green Mushroom). The agenda also includes routine consent items, division updates on sports, parks, marketing, events, and programs, and public comment.

Planning Commission (Aug. 11)

The commission will hold a public hearing on Zone Text Amendment No. 0013-26, a proposed change to the city's zoning regulations. The agenda includes an appeal filing fee of $1,100.00 for final project decisions, along with consent calendar items, public comment, and commissioner reports. The meeting is scheduled at Council Chambers, 400 N. Douty St., with a live stream available.

Hanford City Council scheduled to weigh eminent domain, vehicle and infrastructure purchases

The Hanford City Council's July 21 agenda included a resolution of necessity to acquire 203 E 7th Street by eminent domain, along with votes on equipment purchases totaling more than $960,000 and a road rehabilitation contract worth $295,747.50. Minutes from the meeting have not yet been published, so outcomes are not yet confirmed.

City Council — July 21

The Council was scheduled to hold public hearings on funding changes in the Quail Run Estates and Portofino Landscape and Lighting Maintenance Assessment Districts.

Agenda items also included:

• A Resolution of Necessity for acquisition of 203 E 7th Street by eminent domain.
• Purchase of a 2027 Front Load Refuse truck for $497,506.79.
• Purchase of two K9 patrol vehicles and five unmarked administration vehicles for $467,019.85.
• A contract for road rehabilitation on 10th Avenue from Fargo Avenue to State Route 43 for $295,747.50.

Planning Commission — July 14

The Planning Commission was scheduled to discuss a finding of General Plan consistency for the acquisition of a future elementary school site. The 16.44-acre (gross) site is located north of Fargo Avenue and east of 12th Avenue and is intended for use by the Pioneer Union Elementary School District. Minutes from this meeting have not yet been published.

Parks and Recreation Commission — July 13

The Parks and Recreation Commission agenda included routine consent-calendar items and division updates covering the sports complex, parks, marketing and sponsorship, programs, directors, and recreation events.

The Commission was also scheduled to discuss a Public Works recommendation on weekly maintenance closure periods for off-leash community dog parks. No other specific decisions were listed on the agenda. Minutes have not yet been published.

The Commission will hold a public hearing on Amended Annexation 165 and Prezone No. 0013-24, which proposes to annex approximately 86.4 acres into Hanford city limits from Kings County. The area, located north of Grangeville Boulevard and east of 9 ¼ Avenue, would be prezoned as Medium-Density Residential (80.95 acres) and Neighborhood Mixed Use (5.45 acres). The proposal includes parcels with APNs 014-143-069, 014-143-078, and 014-143-022. The consent calendar includes approval of the July 14, 2026 meeting minutes.
