The same agenda listed a public hearing and Resolution No. 2026-3074 on Sienna Rehab, LP's low-income housing tax credit application, and an interlocal agreement with Brazoria County covering street and roadway construction, improvement, maintenance and repair for FY 2026–2027.

The Oct. 19 council agenda lists a construction contract for water infrastructure improvements to McDonald Municipal & Industrial, Inc. for $1,468,969.00. The agenda also lists Resolution No. 2026-3076 on a grant application for the Email Cybersecurity Risk Mitigation and Data Resilience Project, street closures for the Freeport Halloween Trunk or Treat Candy Crawl 2026, selection of a candidate for the Texas Municipal League Region 14 Director Election, and an executive session on Civil Action No. 3:26-CV-00072, Donna Lee Fisher v. City of Freeport, et al.

Board of Adjustment to hear five properties

The Board of Adjustment meets Oct. 22 for public hearings on whether accessory structures should be removed and properties cleaned up at 1802 N. Ave I, 707 W 5th St, 1215 W 4th St, 723 W 5th St and 1210 W 7th St. The agenda also lists updates for 411 Sailfish Drive and for 1302 W 9th St, 1822 N Ave S, 215 E Park Ave, 1418 W. 8th, 1119 W. 4th and 420 S Ave F, plus a possible change to the November 2026 meeting date.

Freeport boards and councils set summer agendas; minutes not yet published

Freeport's city boards and commissions held a packed schedule over the past two weeks, but as of publication, meeting minutes had not been released for any of the sessions. The summaries below reflect what each body was scheduled to consider, not confirmed outcomes.

City Council

The Freeport City Council was scheduled to meet July 20 to consider two business items: continuing the Axon Taser agreement, presented by Chief Jennifer Howell, and approving Resolution No. 2026-3060 to engage Hyde Kelley LLP as special counsel for industrial district matters, with joint representation from Lake Jackson and Clute. The consent agenda included approval of minutes, the monthly financial report, the quarterly investment report, and reaffirmation of the City's Investment Policy via Resolution No. 2026-3059. The council also planned an executive session covering the six-month performance evaluation of the city manager and an update on Cause No. 125934-CV, Park Avenue Lofts LLC vs. Board of Adjustment and City of Freeport.

Planning and Zoning Commission
